Day 3 and it was time to pack up. Dad went home and led music at church so we wouldn’t be able to get back out on the boat until after I had to checkout. So, the morning was spent packing it all in and putting it all up. Once dad got back, he helped me finish putting it all up, which I have to say was very nice since I usually do it all alone. We hooked up the camper and got ready to go when we realized that one of the tires was completely flat. Not having any other options we were going to try to move very slowly to the camp store to blow up the tire and try to change it when one of our neighbors came out and flagged us down. He had an air compressor for this very purpose and was kind enough to let us use it to blow up the tire. Once that was complete we tried to get the lugnuts off, only to find out we didn’t have the right tool. So back and forth to dad’s truck…three trips later…and we finally had the tools we needed. Keep in mind, it was about 100 degrees or so at this point and there is absolutely no shade whatsoever where we are standing. We finally got the tire changed, praise the Lord, and set off to take the camper to my uncle’s camp about 2 miles away for the week (we are heading back out to Mill Creek again this weekend).
Back at the camp (much later than anticipated) and we finally get out on the boat again. This time we really only spent about an hour out, but it was nice to swim and tube for a little while. Next weekend, I’m getting out on the kneeboard!
